AROUND THE TOWN – FRIDAY 6th APRIL

8-10pmTHE BOWLING GREENSAM WHISKEY’S POISON MEDICINE BAND - brings together an eclectic range of music predominantly from the 70’s. This 4 piece band boasts a pedigree of talent and revamps a number of old classic 70’s tracks which are seldom heard today; songs by Ian Hunter, Genesis, Skynyrd, Jo-Jo Gunne, Bowie and even a ‘Pink Floyd’ style rework of the old Hot Chocolate song ‘Everyone’s a winner’.

8-10pm - THE CROWN HOTEL BAR - THE FUNKBREAKERS DUO – This slimline version of the ‘The Funkbreakers’ band features dangerous Dan Machin on guitar. The duo play a blend of cool funk and soul with a dash of modern rhythm, with Chris Dyer on Sax and Vocal duties.

8-10pm - THE TALBOT - THE BLUES HOUNDS - perform unique versions of great R&B classics originally by such artists as Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon and Freddie King, alongside covers of more modern songs by Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King and Robben Ford as well as one or two of their own original songs.

9-11pmTHE WHITE HORSE (Inside) - ROUGHNECK RIOT - A rip-roaring foot stomping 6 piece Folk/Punk band pulling their inspiration from the likes of  The Pogues, The Clash & Johnny Cash.

AROUND THE TOWN – SATURDAY 7th APRIL

2pm – 4pm - NANTWICH MUSEUM - TOM DOUGHTY - With 30 plus years of re learning his craft, Tom has developed a unique sound and technique that makes his music instantly recognizable. ‘He is a master of the Lap Slide Guitar, nothing less’.  Ian McWee, Diamond Bottlenecks. With three nationally and internationally acclaimed CD’s to his name, studio sessions, a growing reputation as a slide guitar teacher and workshop leader, Tom entertains audiences throughout the land. Expect Blues, Roots, Folk, Standards and his own songwriting skills.

3pm – 5pm - NANTWICH METHODIST CHURCH – THE YACHT CLUB FOUR - are a four-piece band with a singer; playing jazz in the New Orleans tradition - blues, rags, hymns, spirituals, waltzes, popular songs and marches – They have many years’ experience of playing the music of New Orleans and have played together in other bands and for the past two years have been playing successfully with this line-up.

3pm – 5pm - THE WHITE HORSE – HOUSEPARTY – A five piece band of talented local musicians covering some well known tracks from differing eras. Featuring four lead vocalists:- Chris Dyer/Sax, Al Hopkins/Guitar, Tom Seals/Piano, Al Dean/Bass…along with Andy Bibby/Drums and occasional vocal encouragement !

3pm – 5pm - THE BOWLING GREEN – WHISKEY HEAD – are a lively and popular five piece rhythm and blues outfit working extensively throughout Staffordshire and the deep south of Cheshire. Its members bring together years of varied musical experience and are passionate about live performance, delivering modern and traditional guitar and harp blues with a driving, contemporary edge.

3pm – 5pm THE UNION – THE PROVIDENCE JUG BAND - originally played together in the early 70s, emerging from the bunch of musicians that formed the backbone of their local folk scene. They reformed some 30 years later to play a range of material from railroad songs, primitive blues and rude American folktales to ragtime and jazz. The band consists of Winston on vocals and harmonica, Steve on mandolin, Keith on tea-chest bass and guitar and Phil on guitar.

3pm – 5pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BALLROOM – THE SLIPPERY HILL BOYS – Blisteringly fast bluegrass classics coupled with laid back, traditional Americana are the hallmarks of Staffordshire based band, The Slippery Hill Boys. The band consists of four highly skilled musicians who bring a wealth of experience to the stage. Ralph’s banjo
expertise rivals many of the American bluegrass players and flatpicker Andy is a fine banjo player too. The line up is completed by Tim on mandolin and Geoff on bass. Four part harmony vocals complete the package that has appeal for any age group.

3pm – 5pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BAR – BLUE CEE - Nantwich favourites, Raphael Callaghan (vocal, slide guitar, harmonica) and Christine Purnell (bass guitar) are back with their blues, boogie and gospel duo. Expect exclusive preview of songs from their forthcoming album Secrets and Lies. Don’t miss them!

3pm – 5pmNAKATCHA  - BLOZONE - Another happy return for this popular eight piece band. This local outfit boasts a lively three piece brass section and deliver an entertaining mix of soul/tamla motown and popular favourites. Guaranteed to leave you on a high.

3pm – 5pmTHE RESIDENCE (Inside) – THE SPARE RIBS - Heidi’s well established vocal styling and Jack’s exciting gypsy guitar riffs combine with rich harmonies, catchy choruses and spine tingling violin and flute. These singer/song writers, Heidi Browne & Jack Marshall have created this genre-fusing multi instrumentalist experience, and are more than willing to share it with you.

4pm – 6pmTHE SHAKESPEARE – THE RETROSPECTIVE – are a Crewe-based pop-rock three-piece. With a polished perfection reminiscent of Jimmy Eat World in their prime and armed with choruses that Feeder and the The All-American Rejects would be proud to call their own. The band has built up a solid reputation as one of the Cheshire scene’s leading lights. With an arsenal of their own contagiously catchy pop-songs and a selection of modern covers they continue to win over every audience they play to.

6pm – 8pmTHE TALBOT – WITH BOB ON OUR SIDE – Founded in 1999, these festival regulars perform an exciting and innovative set, featuring a range of classics from  Bob Dylan & The Band. From solo acoustic to cranked-up electric rock, this is a must see gig for Festival goers!

 6pm – 8pmTHE UNION – THE START – a five piece mod, pop, punk band with a little bit of rock.  Playing songs from The Jam, Stereophonics, The Enemy, The Clash, U2, The Fratellis, Feeder, The Pigeon Detectives, The Cure, The Buzzcocks, Sex pistols. plus many more. A high energy fun band, producing full on foot tapping sets.

6pm – 8pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BALLROOM – THE FOLKWITS – are a local folk duo, widely acclaimed in the area, featuring moving harmonies and a powerful acoustic performance. Influences are drawn from the Civil Wars, Mumford and Sons, Fairport Convention & Richard Thomson, with a sprinkling of Dolly Parton for good measure!

6pm – 8pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BAR – RAIN - an acoustic duo doing a mixture of original and cover material. An eclectic mix of folk/rock/blues and a few unusual songs too. “The idea isn’t to cover the standard cover songs, but to find songs that challenge us as musicians and that have a narrative that we can relate to the audience.”

6pm – 8pmNAKATCHA – BLUZE BOX – This six-piece band bring a jazz twist to their powerful set.  Using an original approach with strong guitar, sax and piano soloists behind authentic vocals they use traditional and modern blues material to create an intensely exciting experience.

6pm – 8pmTHE RESIDENCE (Inside) – BLUE CEE - Last chance this festival to catch Raphael Callaghan (vocal, slide guitar, harmonica) and Christine Purnell (bass guitar) with their original take on blues, boogie and gospel.

6pm – 8pmTHE WHITE HORSE  - RICK LACEY’S BLUES BAND - An Englishman, an American and an Italian walk in to a bar… it sounds like the start of a joke but it is in fact the start of the band, consisting of  Paolo Fuschi, Dave Luvin and Rick Lacey. The band share a passion for funky powerful blues and their aim is to lay down some serious grooves.

7pm – 9pm – THE MALBANK -  SWAY – This Cheshire based band play a varied set of well known classic hits from the past four decades, from the likes of:- Elbow, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Doobie Brothers, Kaiser Chiefs, The Jam, The Beatles, Hard Fi, Big Country and Stereophonics. Featuring; Andy Gilbert (vocals & guitar), Anthony Greatbanks (lead guitar & vocals), David Edwards (bass) and Wayne Evans (drums).

7pm – 9pmTHE SHAKESPEARE – MIDNITE JOHNNY - has worked extensively throughout the USA and has established a reputation as one of South Florida’s most powerful Blues and Rock guitarists. A lead/slide guitarist and vocalist along with a three piece rhythm section specialising in Blues; Blues Rock; Classic Rock, and R & B, Guitar styles. MJ’s resume includes work with Bo Diddley, Harvey Mandel, Warren Caeser, Dan Ackroyd and many more.

7pm – 9pmTHE RESIDENCE (Marquee) – THE COWBOY OUTFIT - were formed a couple of years ago from ex-members of The Winchesters, who thrilled the festival-goers of Europe for over a decade and The Lonesome and Penniless Cowboys, Manchester’s longest running Western Swing band. You’re sure to love their sizzling renditions of the best of Hank Williams, Bob Wills and Johnny Cash, with a few surprises thrown in! If you like toe-tapping Honky Tonk music, this is the band for you

7.30pm – 9.30pm  - HARRISONS – THE GREEN HYENAS - are a 4 piece covers band, playing tracks by such artists as The Beatles, The Jam, Paul Weller, Stereophonics, Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight, Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters and many more!!!. Their tight harmonies & professional sound come with years of experience in the live music industry.

 8pm – 10pm – THE RED COW – PHIL MADDOCKS - Solo singer-songwriter from Congleton Cheshire, who has a diverse range of influences from Richard Thompson to Marvin Gaye. He’s a regular live performer around the North- West, and also features on local radio as he continues to develop his acoustic based songs.

8pm – 10pmTHE BOWLING GREEN - THE GREY GOOSE BLUES BAND - An original blues outfit from the West Midlands. The band were formed in 2008 by singer, songwriter and guitarist Frankie Williams, and are fast developing an excellent reputation on the British Blues scene: ‘Refreshing, entertaining and efficient band with good ideas…’ Blues Matters magazine.  Also according to BM, The Grey Goose have ‘that added ingredient – lyrical originality’, and go on to say that the Geese ‘handle all the regular modern blues tempos with confidence and some fine playing’.

8pm – 10pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BALLROOM - THE FIREBIRD SMITH BLUES BAND - A nine-piece outfit that synthesises modern blues, funk, soul and swing into a genre they call ‘Blacktop Blues’.  Fronted by William ‘Firebird’ Smith, the band features a 3-piece horn section, two guitars, keys, bass and drums – all top musicians. The repertoire includes some original material, but mainly covers artistes such as Colin James, Lloyd Jones, Delbert McClinton andTower ofPower. It’s the kind of music that both moves your feet and soothes your soul.

9pm – 11pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BAR – SILKEN - Silvana’s enchanting soulful vocals and Ken Warrillow’s acoustic guitar combine to produce great arrangements of cool ballads and foot-tapping songs in the style of artistes ranging from Eva Cassidy to Karen Carpenter and Peggy Lee to Adele. Silvana has appeared on Channel 4 and BBC TV.

9pm – 11pmTHE TALBOT – THE BLACK NOTE BLUES BAND - are a five piece, good timeChicago style R&B R&R band. Playing foot stompin’ finger snappin’ blues and boogie. Gigging throughout theUK at blues clubs pubs and Festivals alike. A guaranteed good time to be had.

9pm – 11pmTHE WHITE HORSE – BIG BLUE HOUSE - are no strangers to Nantwich Festival goers. This three piece Rhythm & Blues outfit that has been plying its trade around the Blues circuit in various guises for the last 10 years or so. Featuring; James Harrison guitar/vocals Al Dean bass/vocals and Paul Turner on the kit. Special guest will be the ‘Man in Black’ local blues harp legend Mr Ade White.

12pm – 2pmTHE TALBOTTHE DAVE SPEAKIMAN BANDare one of the busiest function bands in the UK. Expect hard grooves, soaring solos and non stop hits from this band of seasoned professionals. Dave Speakman – Vocals/ Guitar, Adam Fairhall – Keyboards, Ollie Collins – Bass, Gaz Hughes – Drums

12pm – 2pmTHE WHITE HORSE - THE VICE BISHOPSThe band features the twin-electric guitars of Pod Malkin & Dave Faulkner. Ex- Zydeco Bros. Dave Blant on bass & Fred Hopwood on drums provide a solid platform for some fine original songs and classic blues/rock covers.

12pm – 2pmTHE CROWN BALLROOMJ.L.S.A.K.A. Jim Kirkpatrick, Les Hunt & Stevie Hayes. Acoustic guitar/vocal trio. Featuring members of FM, the Climax Blues Band & Nearly Dan, playing a mixture of styles from gypsy jazz to blues and folk with three part vocal and guitar harmonies.

1pm – 3pmTHE BOWLING GREENADRIAN INGHAM’S JAZZ DAWGSBand Leader Adrian Ingram is a player, writer and teacher of Jazz Guitar. The band are, himself, Ian Wroe and Pete Wraith (vocals) playing 3
different types of guitar to showcase his style and those of some jazz guitar greats.

1pm – 3pmTHE SHAKESPEAREHOT FOOT JAZZ DUOOne of the UK’s most popular Jazz Duo’s, featuring Dave Hopkins on Sax’s, Flute and Clarinet and Ian Stopes on Guitar and Banjo. They have performed at many Jazz Festivals in the UK and Europe, playing Jazz Standards and Original compositions. Their style of music ranges from trad to swing to funky and modern. They have built up a very impressive CV over many years including work for Radio and TV.

1pm – 3pmTHE MALBANKTHE ANNIE LONG TRIO - Popular Wirral vocalist Annie Long is joined by top Manchester musicians to bring you a fine and mellow mix of swing, latin, blues and ballads.

1pm – 3pmUNIONTHE WASH - A truly original four-piece indie rock band with original songs and interesting covers. Hypnotic guitars, driving beats, foot tapping rhythms and powerful lyrics.

1pm – 3pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BARRUBY & THE RESONATOR - The distinctive and versatile vocals of Louise are enhanced by the accomplished playing of Chris on acoustic and resonator slide guitar. Inspiration comes from such diverse artistes as; Peggy Lee, Robert Johnson, Leroy Carr, Memphis Minnie, Imelda May, Mississippi John Hurt, Madelaine Peyroux and Howlin’ Wolf.

1pm – 3pmNAKATCHAWAYNE & THE HAIRY PEACHESA four piece with a difference, classics from the 50′s through to the present day, done with a unique take that has to be seen and heard to be believed, the Peaches feature two very ripe fruits with the other two barely off the tree. If you fancy a sing along and a laugh, this is not one to miss.

1pm – 3pmTHE RESIDENCE (Marquee)BBH & THE PIANO MAN - The Big Blue House boys with Tom Seals, carrying on from where they left off last year. A mixture of funky R&B and instrumental interplay, both acoustic and electric.

2pm – 4pmTHE RED COWSCOTT D. THOMPSON COLLECTIVEScott invites his friends from his acoustic evenings to join him for a song or two. Come down and join in, should be a fair old mix of music.

2pm – 4pmHARRISONSTHE SALT CITY JAZZMENOur home grown heroes and stalwarts of the Nantwich Festival, once again bring their Trad Jazz sounds to Harrisons. A guaranteed good time gig!

3pm – 5pm  - NANTWICH METHODIST CHURCHTHE YACHT CLUB FOUR - with a mixture of songs, Spiritual & Gospel, with Christine Tyrrell, who after many years of success touring in the UK, Europe and the US with Phil Mason’s New Orleans All Stars, has returned to the musicians ‘back home’. Christine is a wonderful jazz, blues and gospel singer; she is loved by audiences wherever she goes.

3pm – 5pmTHE WHITE HORSEMONKEY FINGER - After a non-stop tour of L.A (The Leek Area), The Finger are making a welcome return. Drawing on classics from masters including Free, Bad Company, Gary Moore and ZZ Top, all delivered with their unique brand of “Monkey-ness”, they are a must-see for all visitors to the festival. So get yourself ready for a night of quality Classic Rock (the gift that keeps on giving) with only one warning – prolonged exposure is guaranteed to make you a fully-fledged “Monkey Fingerer”!!!!

3pm – 5pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BALLROOMHEAVY WEATHER - A dynamic Blues/rock outfit fronted by FM and Bernie Marsden guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick who has in the last eighteen months appeared at Download twice, toured with Journey and Foreigner and members of Deep Purple. The band which contains Climax Blues Band and Deborah Bonham members will be playing a mixture of original and cover material.

4pm – 6pmTHE SHAKESPEARETHE TEMPLEBYSare a female fronted, five piece Soul/funk band hailing
from Preston, Lancashire. Influences include The New Mastersounds, Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, James Brown, the Meters and Betty Adams to name but a few. Come down, let your hair down and get your karate boogaloo on!

4pm – 6pmTHE TALBOTSLIDE BOY ROY BLUES BANDwere formed at the beginning of 2005 from the remnants of three other busy working blues bands. They were looking to play the blues in there own style but with influences of some of the best blues artistes both present and past. Played with good humour, no two gigs are the same with their extensive take on the blues, R&B and roots R&R.

4pm – 6pmTHE UNIONWEEZEL DIESELis a rustic rock & blues band hailing from Shropshire,
UK that replaces lead guitar with harmonica and provides alternative arrangements to popular songs, that in a word can only be described as “Weezeled”.

4pm – 6pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BARTHE SPARE RIBS - Singer song writers Heidi Browne & Jack Marshall have created this genre-fusing multi instrumentalist duo. 4pm – 6pmNAKATCHA (Club Room)THE MANATEES(pronounced man at ease) could be a group of large, lazy, freshwater aquatic mammals with halitosis and chronic flatulence or five gents of mixed age and dubious parentage (well at ease with themselves and each other)  playing the chillin’est Blues, Jazz, Funk, Soul, Rock’n'stuff this side of the Florida swamps. Born from the ashes of Nantwich J&B regulars Cactus Moon, when invited this year, Manatees yawned, scratched, farted and said “yeah, that’ll be cooool”

4pm – 6pmTHE RESIDENCE (Marquee)THE FUNKBREAKERSA fantastic five piece band with sax and keys playing smooth Funk, Soul and R&B with a cool twist. The band was founded after a jam gig at the famous blues venue, The Grapes in Stafford. Featuring some seriously funky basslines all present and correct.5pm – 7pmTHE BOWLING GREENTHAW - A fabulous three piece band, sure to kick off your evening with a bang! Delivering songs from greats such as Hendrix and Clapton…. Said to be the next generation of local talent, having been taught by some of the best in the area, these guys are sure to blow you away. Don’t miss out!

5pm – 7pmTHE MALBANKTHE BOB STILL BLUES SENSATION - With not too obvious choice of song & some originals - authentic/eccentric. Alan on guitar backed visiting Americans such as Lowel Fulson, Lazy
Lester & Phil Guy, bass player Fergus is a regular on circuit & an artist in his own right, and on drums, Nigel, a well sought after drummer on the London scene of the late 70s, before moving to and gigging around the USA. Vocals, guitar & harp; Bob, who played & toured on the S.West scene regularly.

5pm – 7pmTHE RED COWTHE FOLKWITS - Have been delighting audiences far and wide with their own brand of nu-folk music. The Audlem based duo are influenced by Eva Cassidy, Richard Thompson, Fairport Convention and Laura Marling, a must see this year.

6pm – 8pmHARRISONSTHE MIDNIGHT PILGRIMS - An acoustic first helping from a local band with a large following. Southern-style, reworked creative covers from artists like Tom Petty, John Mellencamp, The Band and Steve Earle – with a smattering of originals thrown into the Dixie mix. Tennessean frontman, varied instrumentation and blended harmonies spice up the musical gumbo.

7pm – 9pmTHE UNIONTHE CLAN - A three piece Classic Rock band made up from experienced and well respected musicians. They play their feel good brand of rock originals and covers all over the UK, their simple aim being to provide an entertaining and fun show the best way they can. After all, Rock & Roll was never meant to be taken seriously!! They return to Nantwich after a highly successful appearance last year.

7pm – 9pmNAKATCHA (Club Room)THE FRIENDLY CAMPAIGN - formed in 1984 and despite many personnel changes have continued to make great original music. The current line-up has been together for three years along with the band’s founder member Gary Jewess. This has proved to be the bands most stable period.

A top notch band covering anything but the norm, Rock music at its finest.

With influences from the likes of; Gene Vincent & Jerry Lee Lewis to Brian Setzer & The Stray Cats, this powerhouse four piece whip up a storm with their dynamite delivery of some of the greatest Rock & Roll and Rockabilly numbers ever to grace the planet.

 2pm – 4pm –  THE BOWLING GREEN - J.L.S.A.K.A. Jim Kirkpatrick, Les Hunt & Stevie Hayes. Acoustic guitar/vocal trio. Featuring members of FM, the Climax Blues Band & Nearly Dan, playing a mixture of styles from gypsy jazz to blues and folk with three part vocal and guitar harmonies.
2pm – 4pm –  THE RED COW - SILKENSilvana’s enchanting soulful vocals and Ken Warrillow’s acoustic guitar combine to produce great arrangements of cool ballads and foot-tapping songs in the style of artistes ranging from Eva Cassidy to Karen Carpenter and Peggy Lee to Adele. Silvana has appeared on Channel 4 and BBC TV.

2pm – 4pm - THE CROWN HOTEL BAR - DAVID BRISTOWplays mellow front porch blues in his own unique style. His inspiration is drawn from the storytelling bluesmen of the pre-war period, with songs portraying every facet of a life lived to the full.

3pm – 5pmTHE SHAKESPEARE - THE TEMPLEBY’S - For the past eighteen months they have been bringing Soul back to its rightful home in the Northwest, at festivals and venues around Lancashire and surrounding areas.. With a Limited edition 45 on the way and a new EP in the works, their influences are heavily rooted in the late 60’s funk and soul ethos of raw grooves straight from the soul.

3pm – 5pm - THE UNION - THE MIDNIGHT PILGRIMS - At the crossroads of American music, playing roots, rhythm, country, rock and boogie-woogie, The Midnight Pilgrims never fail to get a crowd going, hence their local popularity. A second helping from this Jack Daniels laced, southern-style party band.

3pm – 5pmTHE WHITE HORSE - THE RUDE BOYS - The very best of 80’s Ska featuring hits from; The Specials/Bad Manners/Selector/ Toots, with a little bit of Madness thrown in! The band are based in the Midlands, and grew up with the Ska post-punk scene in an atmosphere of Clubs and Pubs. “We got sick of playing music we didn’t like and decided to play stuff that gets a reaction!”

3pm – 5pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BALLROOM - THE ESCAPE COMMITEE - Since its inception in 1989 the band featuring Pete [Sarge] Frampton has championed Pub- rock with an eclectic mix of songs from the 60’s and 70’s. The band plays covers which are arranged through the vehicle of the jam band ethic. There has never been a formal rehearsal and the performances of Crosby’s “Almost Cut my Hair”, Winwood’s “Can’t find my way Home” are much requested from Stafford to Preston. Since 1989 they have recorded 6 albums and the 2004 outing “Four Upstanding” is available on i-Tunes.

3pm – 5pmNAKATCHARHYTHM ZOO - are rapidly gaining a solid reputation within the UK blues music scene and have been described as one of the fastest rising blues bands in the UK. Headlining at Orkney Blues Festival last September and on the main stage at this year’s Hebden Bridge Blues Festival. Don’t miss the ‘Zoo’… prepare to be captured!!

3pm – 5pm - THE RESIDENCE (Inside) THE ANNIE LONG DUO - Annie is accompanied by the excellent cocktail pianist Derek Hayes to bring you a smooth set of jazz, latin and favourites from the Great American Songbook.

4pm – 6pm - THE MALBANK - DAYVE DEAN & NICK BAYESSeasoned local musicians and occasional collaborators Dayve Dean (guitar) and Nick Bayes (acoustic and upright basses) come together to play a mix of original acoustic folk/pop and familiar cover versions. Over the last couple of years this duo have played gigs and Festivals from Brighton to Edinburgh and many places in between!

4pm – 6pm - THE CROWN HOTEL BAR - JAMES HARRISONAn entertaining treat for all you funky fans from BBH/Jim Jams frontman. Looping guitar and soulful vocals.

5pm – 7pm - THE BOWLING GREEN - THE BLUE YELLOWS - “Intense”, “Melodic”, “Quirky”, just some of the words in regular use to describe The Blue Yellows since they played their first gig in 2009. Their sound is a blend of styles containing influences from Blues, Folk & Rock along with an edge that hints at 90’s grunge. The diversity in their songs has elicited comparisons with artists such as The The, Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers and The Dandy Warhols.

5pm – 7pm - THE TALBOT - PRE-SLEEP MONOLOGUE & DIRTY RAY - PSM play groove oriented alternative bluesy folk rock in their own special way. Their music has been described as a fantastic combination of primal, powerful, sensuous, heavy & fragile. Kicks like an angry mule, and hits you right between the eyes.

DIRTY RAY - Bluesman, singer, songwriter, poet. One time lead singer with the Immaculate Fools, charmer of women and animals.  He has a peculiarly individual style of treating the acoustic guitar, honed from his years immersing himself in Spain’s traditional music and his love of delta blues. (Think a better dressed Seasick Steve with a passion for Tapas).

5pm – 7pm - THE WHITE HORSE - HEAVY WEATHER - A second opportunity to see this dynamic Blues/rock outfit fronted by FM and Bernie Marsden guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick. The band which also contains Climax Blues Band and Deborah Bonham members will be playing a mixture of original and cover material.

5pm – 7pmNAKATCHA (Bar) - THE SCOTT D. THOMPSON COLLECTIVE - suitably aided by his musician friends from the weekly Acoustic nights that he hosts, Scott invites one and all to come down and join in the fun.

6pm – 8pmTHE SHAKESPEARE - BLOZONE - Another chance to see a band who need no real introduction to the Festival, as they’ve been packing them in for a few years now. The eight member local outfit features a three piece brass section and play their own takes on well known Soul & Motown standards.

6pm – 8pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BAR - JAMES FARMER - performing a widely-based eclectic mixture of rock ‘n’ roll, blues, folk, pop classics and country with all the hybrids in between and interspersed with a few of his own songs of innocence and experience.

6pm – 8pmTHE CROWN HOTEL BALLROOM - MUMBO JUMBO - takes three of the Midlands most experienced blues musicians – Oliver Carpenter, Chris Lomas and Abby Brant – throws them together in a broadly acoustic format and lets them deliver what they are best at – live music performance. 7pm – 9pmTHE UNION - WAYNE & THE HAIRY PEACHES - offer classics from the 50′s through to the present day, done with a unique take that has to be seen and heard to be believed. A four piece with a difference… If you fancy a sing along and a laugh, this is where you should be.

The band are in their 25th Anniversary year and are looking forward to celebrating it at the Nantwich Festival. They will be joined on stage by a number of guest players, so please come along and make it a gig to remember,
